I hold a solution

Post by Nameless on Thu Nov 20, 2008 6:13 pm

I got an email from Mrs.Ward and I think I have a solution. This is the email:Hey, guys,

Sorry about the mix-up this afternoon. We should meet sometime the week after Thanksgiving. I already have a meeting Tuesday, December 2 after school, but we can meet before school, if you like on Tuesday or Wednesday. Or maybe after school Wednesday. Let me know what you prefer.

The next Math/Science club meeting is also a little messy. Our “every other week” thing is messed up by Thanksgiving. We probably should meet December 5, since we go to Humble the following Saturday. But the “meeting” portion needs to be short, since I need to give the next Mandelbrot test that afternoon, which will also cut down on practice time. I put on the Mu Alpha Theta acceptances that our next meeting would be December 11, forgetting about Humble. We can meet both December 5 and December 11, but the Mandelbrot has to happen on the 5th.

About Humble. I have 28 kids signed up to go, Dulles has 24 and Dulles Middle School has 10. The bus only holds 55. I think we may need to limit to 20 or so. Do you have suggestions for doing that?

My solutions :
1) Dulles Middle School can go by themselves.
2) Dulles High School can bring less people.
3) We can go by ourselves (as a school).
4) First 55 people to get on the bus can go.
5) Anyone who can drive can get a car and drive themselves.
6) Dulles Middle School can go with First Colony.

Are Hightower or any other Fort Bend schools going, that we could share a bus with?

And how far away is Humble, for people who can drive?

From what I remember about First Colony, they and Fort Settlement usually fill the bus. But for Dulles Middle and High to go together makes sense, and we have almost enough to get our own bus right?

I seriously hope you're joking xD

LOL hightower...i seriously hope your joking about even thinking about elkins sharing with hightower...why do we need to share a bus with another school? They can come to us.

Humble isn't that far. It's called mapquest.

You might be right but they ride a charter bus.

No I'm not. First come first serve. I will have no remorse.

Would we be able to actually get our own bus though? We should have enough people going to Humble to have our own bus, but actually getting the bus might be a bit complicated, especially since it's only about half a month away.

Well i don't know how Mrs.Ward obtains methods of transportation. I don't see why we can't have our own bus.

It is too late to ask Dulles to get their own bus. We will ride with them next semester to West Brook and Atascocita - this is the only way we can afford busses to go to this many tournaments. And Dulles comes with Dulles Middle School. (If we ever can get a feeder middle school to come to tournaments, we would share the bus with them as well.) Keli suggested that we let students attend 2 contests next semester instead of 1 each semester. Also there is one more contest this semester January 10 to Seven Lakes and we have a bus to ourselves.

Mrs.Ward has a point there. I agree, let us allow people to go to 2 contests next semester instead of 1 each semester or they could go to the contest in January which still counts for this semester.

People probably will opt out - except for the true Math Club ...nerds... who really want to go (like me) Smile Or we could use paying dues as an elimination method.

Sure, people can opt out whenever they want. If they only go because they are forced to go, there isn't any meaning then. Good idea, use the dues as elimination limits a huge amount of random members who don't really participate.

Not necessarily, a lot of semi members pay dues to stay in.
